ELIGIBILITY:

Current USJI, USJF or USJA membership is required and must be

presented. USJI applications available on site.

 

ENTRY FEE:

$25.00, plus $5 for each additional division

 

SCORING:

Modified Double-Elimination will be employed in divisions with more

than 3 entrants. Round-Robin will be employed in divisions with 3

entrants. 2-of-3 will be employed in divisions with 2 entrants.

 

The Grand Championship will be contested under Single Elimination.

 

RULES:

Current International Judo Federation Rules apply

 

DIVISIONS:

All divisions will be determined following weigh-ins:

Juniors (age 16 & under): Boys & Girls divisions

Seniors Novice (Yonkyu & under): Men’s & Women’s divisions

Seniors All-Ranks: Men’s & Women’s divisions

Masters (age 30 & over): Men’s & Women’s divisions

Grand Championship Open: Men’s & Women’s

 

AWARDS:

1st, 2nd, 3rd –place medals awarded in each division and weight class

(1 Men’s and 1 Women’s Grand Champion).

 

SCHEDULE:

Weigh-ins 9:00am – 10:30am, M & W Locker Rooms

Competition 12:00pm

Location       Long Lines Family Rec. Center (Auditorium adjoining the Tyson Events Center)

Eligibility      Current USJI, USJF or USJA membership. Applications available on site.

 

You must show a current card (with insurance) or purchase a new card on site.

 

Rules Modified IJF rules.   Junior divisions—no arm locks, no chokes if either competitor is

 

under age 13. Match length—3 minutes.

 

Scoring         Full double elimination. Round robin for divisions with 4 or less competitors.

 

Entry Fee      $20 per person.  Family rate ($10 per person) applies after second member of the same family. Additional divisions $5 each

 

Awards         1st, 2nd, and 3rd place medals.

In consideration of being permitted to participate in any way, including travel to and from the Iowa Judo, Inc. State Championship and related events and activities of United States Judo, Inc., United States Judo Federation, United States Judo Association, Iowa Judo, Inc., Girls, Inc., American Judo Club, the City of Sioux City, and the Sioux City Judo Club, I hereby:

 

1. Acknowledge that I am familiar with the sport of Judo and understand the rules governing the sport of Judo.

Agree that prior to participating, I wilt inspect the mats, equipment, facilities, competition pools or divisions, and the elimination or scoring system to be used, and if I believe anything is unsafe or beyond my capacity, I will immediately advise my coach or supervisor and/or a tournament official of such conditions and refuse to participate.

Acknowledge and fully understand that I will be engaging in a contact sport that might result in serious injury, including permanent disability or death, and severe social and economic losses due to not only my own actions, inactions, or negligence, but also to the actions, inactions, or negligence of others, the rules of the sport of Judo, or conditions of the premises or of any equipment used. Further, I acknowledge that there may be other risks not known to me or not reasonably foreseeable at this time.

 

4. Knowing the risks involved in the sport of Judo, I assume all such risks and accept personal responsibility for the damages following such injury, permanent disability or death.
